Hello, my name is Amber Booth. I was born and raised in Canada, EH!  I received my TEFL certification through the University of Toronto including a focus on Teaching English to Young Learners and Digital Technology in the Classroom.  I have had the opportunity to teach English to kids, teenagers and adults.

I want to open with a quote from Benjamin Franklin – “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” My teaching philosophy is centered around the idea that participation from students is fundamental to their English language development in all aspects, including reading, writing, listening and speaking. For this reason,  I strive to make my lessons engaging, entertaining and interactive. Students can expect to use grammar as the building block to successful communication. I want students to feel comfortable using the English language to have interesting and meaningful conversations inside and outside the classroom. 

 I have found an incredible sense of gratitude in being able to observe my students begin to grasp the English language with confidence and ease. I want students to be excited to come to their English class.
