Towson University or TU is a metropolitan university of the state of Maryland, the largest university in the Baltimore area, and the second largest in the state of Maryland. It offers undergraduate, master’s and continuing education programs in the areas of arts and sciences, interdisciplinary studies, communication, business, health sciences, education, fine arts and information technology.

Today, Towson University is Maryland’s premier teacher and teacher training center, as well as the home of RESI, a leading provider of applied economics and technology management consulting.

Founded in 1866, it is part of the Maryland University System. Towson University has more than 21,000 students enrolled in seven different colleges.
